My wonderful husband spent the weekend completing my greenhouse. Isn’t it a beaut? All I can think about are tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes. I also have two bhut jolokia peppers that may or may not be alive that will be moving into the greenhouse. They did very well last year, until my little plastic tent greenhouse shredded and basically became useless. Then winter came and my defenseless tropical peppers were decimated.
My Mom was kind enough to partner up with me last year on a greenhouse, and she bought this little plastic cloth number from Harbor Freight. I happily used it all spring and summer, until in August I spotted the first tears in the plastic. It was over from there. All the plastic eventually rotted and fell away. The thing didn’t even last six months. I was bitterly disappointed.
I vowed that I would not give up on a geenhouse, it was so incredibly useful while it lasted. So this year I invested in an Easy Grow 6×8. I love, love, love it! It has a 10 year warranty too, so no excuses for this failing anytime soon. I need to anchor it down and take temperature readings so I know what I’m dealing with, but it won’t be long before I’m swimmin, in tomaters!
